Windows 11: New Features and Updates You Need to Know

Windows 11 is already an amazing operating system, but it’s about to get even better with some exciting new features and updates. In this post, we’ll show you what’s coming and how it will make your life easier and more productive.

Snipping Tool: Copy and Paste Text from Screenshots

The Snipping Tool is handy for taking screenshots, but it’s now more powerful than ever. With the new ‘Text Actions’ feature, you can copy and paste text directly from your screenshots—no need to type out information from an image again.

You can also use the new ‘Quick Redact’ feature to hide sensitive information in screenshots—no more messy scribbles over confidential data. Just select the area you want to blur, and you’re done.

Phone Link: Sync Your Android Devices and PC

Windows 11 makes connecting your Android devices and PC easy with the Phone Link feature. You can access your photos, messages, notifications, and apps from your PC without switching devices. You can also make and receive calls from your PC using your phone’s cellular connection.

Photos App: Blur Backgrounds and Search by Content

The Photos app is getting a major makeover with a new Background Blur option. You can make your photos look more professional by blurring out the background. You can also adjust the intensity of the blur or select specific areas to blur.

Another cool feature is the new ‘Content Search’ capability for photos backed up on OneDrive. Thanks to intelligent image detection software, you can now search for photos based on their content. Microsoft will scan and label your photos with searchable tags. You can also search for photos based on location across local files, OneDrive, and Apple’s iCloud. Yes, iPhone users are included, too.

Video Editor: Edit and Create Videos Easily

Some Windows 10 users were disappointed when the Video Editor feature was removed from the Photos app. But it seems that Microsoft is listening to feedback and returning it to Windows 11. The announcement mentioned that “Edit and Create Video options are now easily accessible at the top of the gallery view.” We don’t know the details yet, but hope to see some video editing functions soon.
