If you’re not a fan of the weather, sports scores, or finance updates appearing on your Windows 11 lock screen, you’re not stuck with them. Microsoft now lets you fully customize what shows up—or remove widgets altogether for a cleaner look.

Here’s how to take back control.

Change the Widgets You See

Still want widgets, just not those widgets?

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click Personalization
  3. Select Lock Screen
  4. Tap Widgets

From here, you can choose which widgets appear—weather, traffic, sports, finance, and more. You can even browse and add new ones from the Microsoft Store.

Turn Off Lock Screen Widgets Completely

If you prefer a minimalist lock screen with zero distractions:

  • Simply toggle Widgets off

Your lock screen becomes clean, calm, and clutter‑free—no more updates unless you want them.
